Christian Bale to Star in Adaptation of ‘Deep Blue Good-by’!

Christian Bale is arguably one of the hardest working actors in the business today.  He is able to take any role he accepts and provides the utmost dedication to each one.  From bulking up to be Batman three times between 2005 and 2012, to slimming down drastically for roles in The Fighter and Out of the Furnace, Bale has shown that he can do it all.

His most recent project will be the lead role in Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings which is set to hit theaters in December.  Other than that, it doesn’t seem like Bale has a whole lot on his plate.  However, whenever he is up for any sort of role, the people start buzzing.

According to Variety, today is one of those days.  Their sources say that Bale is in early talks to star as literary character Travis McGee in the upcoming Fox adaptation of John D. MacDonald’s novel The Deep Blue Good-by.  Apparently no official offer has yet been made, though Bale has interest in taking on the role.

James Mangold (The Wolverine) is set to direct the film.

Are you excited to see Christian Bale in his next big role?

Exodus: Gods and Kings hits theaters on December 12th.
