About a month ago, it was announced that the profound Coen brothers’ next big project will be titled Hail, Caesar!, which George Clooney (Gravity) and Josh Brolin (Guardians of the Galaxy) were first announced to star in. It will take place in the 1950’s, following a Hollywood fixer who’s job is to keep a studio’s stars in line. It sounds like a cool idea, and I can definitely see both Brolin and Clooney in a 50’s setting. I was sold.
Then soon after, it was confirmed that another wave of stardom would be accompanying the project; including Channing Tatum (22 Jump Street), Tilda Swinton (Snowpiercer) and Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel). Three pretty renowned names in the world of movies. Even more reasons to buy into this movie.
Even more big news hit the web today regarding Hail, Caesar!, as Variety reports that both Scarlett Johansson (Under the Skin, Lucy) and Jonah Hill (22 Jump Street, The Wolf of Wall Street) are in talks to join the Coen’s ever-growing project.
Apparently the role of Johansson will be that of a 1950’s actress who gets pregnant as her in-movie film is about to start production. The role is a nice fit, as Johansson is actually currently pregnant. It is unclear who Hill would be playing. The film is set to begin production this Fall, so expect Johansson’s role to be very minor.
What are your thoughts on Jonah Hill and ScarJo joining this already-awesome cast, directed by the Coen’s?
