It’s certainly been a long road (no pun intended) for production on Fast & Furious 7; which was supposed to hit theaters next week on July 11th. After the franchise’s star Paul Walker was killed in a car crash last November, production came to a halt and it was announced that the movie would be pushed back to April 2015, to figure out a way to complete filming Walker’s scenes.
Since then the studio has hired the late actor’s two younger brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker to stand-in for Paul’s remaining scenes. Fast 7 will instead usher his iconic character Brian O’Connor out of the series by using a combination of special FX & his brothers as stunt doubles.
Well it seems production has been going smoothly (at least more than anyone may have expected in a tragic situation), as Variety reports that Universal Pictures is bumping the release of the film up a week to April 3rd, previously slated for April 10th.
Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson are set to lead the latest installment, alongside newcomers Kurt Russell and Jason Statham.
Are you excited to see the final result of Fast 7? It should definitely be both interesting and difficult to watch.
Fast & Furious 7 hits theaters on April 3rd, 2015, directed by James Wan.
