The second half of 2014 is shaping up to be a memorable one as far as indie films and intriguing dramas go. Examples of the former, such as Foxcatcher and Whiplash have become heavily-anticipated, while the latter includes dramas like Robert Downey Jr.’s The Judge and Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer; which are stirring up just as much buzz.
Another one to chalk up on the list is Fury; a WWII tank story, directed by David Ayer (End of Watch, Street Kings) and starring Brad Pitt. This isn’t Pitt’s first time taking on the World War II era, having appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds in 2009 (although Fury seems to be a bit more “pure war drama” than “all-out gore fest”). The film will also star Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, & Jon Bernthal.
Yahoo Movies! has just released the first poster for the film, set to hit theaters in November. Check it out below:
Also read the official synopsis here:
“FURY is set at the very end of World War II, in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.”
Who else is excited to see Ayer and Pitt team up for a war drama? Count me in.
Fury is set for release on November 14th.
