Yesterday, director of the upcoming Batman vs. Superman Zack Snyder tweeted a picture of what fans could easily assume is the new Batmobile that will appear in the film. However, the vehicle was covered by a tarp, with the caption “Could be time to pull the tarp…Tomorrow?” leading to speculation that we could see the Batmobile’s full design today. For a refresher (although how could it stray from anyone’s mind?) see yesterday’s teaser below:
Today, Snyder offered up just what he alluded to….and more. This morning the director tweeted out yet another picture, featuring a better look at the Batmobile, as well as- quite possibly something not many were expecting to see for at least another month or two- our first official look at Ben Affleck dawning the new Batsuit. Here’s the official tweet:
Initial thoughts? Obviously from what we’ve learned so far, it seems like Bats vs. Supes will receive simply love-or-hate feedback right up until the day it hits theaters (and potentially afterwards). Personally, this suit to me feels very refreshing. Not as armor-built as Nolan’s Batsuit, and seems to have a lot of influence drawn from the classic Dark Knight Returns comics. The Batmobile looks like a pure hybrid of the Tim Burton design and the Christopher Nolan tumbler.
Found on Facebook is an edited version of the reveal photo, changing the tone and making it a bit lighter. You can see from the edited pic below that the suit is in fact a gray color, and Affleck looks to be very well-toned (someone you’d hope would pair up against Kal-El in battle).
Batman vs. Superman is set to hit theaters on May 6th, 2016, directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, & Laurence Fishburne.
