A lot of people have been itching for a sequel to 2012’s Dredd, the action film that financially flopped, but became a cult success among fans. Offering a lot of brutal action, a realistic drug-based plot, and a stern hero who never showed his face, we saw Karl Urban take over the role played by Sylvester Stallone back in 1995’s Judge Dredd.
WhatCulture reports that Urban recently attended a Star Trek event in Germany, where he answered questions about his role in the rebooted sci-fi series. However, one of the questions he was asked was an inquiry for an update of a possible Dredd sequel. Urban didn’t say much, but he did reveal that “conversations” have taken place about a sequel.
Usually, movies that fail to break even in the box office don’t get sequels, though Urban has previously proved his enthusiasm towards a Dredd 2, and I can assume fans would want to see it happen as well.
What do yo think? Will a Dredd sequel ever see the light of day?
