Out of all the names being floated around for possible roles in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, none of them have yet to be confirmed. While production on the film is probably going to start-up this Spring, we should be getting casting information soon enough.
The latest name attached to the project is Gary Oldman, the acclaimed star of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and the Harry Potter films. Oldman recently spoke to Sky Movies about his upcoming film RoboCop. In the interview, he was asked about Star Wars VII, to which the actor responded “they’ve called”, and that that’s all he can say right now.
The interview can be seen below.
So far, the only character confirmed for the upcoming Star Wars sequel is familiar droid R2-D2. But with production looking to begin in the coming months, expect a bit more information on casting and plot as time goes on.
Star Wars: Episode VII is set to hit theaters on December 18th, 2015, directed by J.J. Abrams.
