One of the actors whose name has been attached to the upcoming Warner Bros/DC epic Batman vs. Superman is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He’s been speculated to play Lex Luthor, Doomsday, and even Green Lantern.
Now speculation is rising once again, but this time over an older social media post by Johnson from November 2013. He posted a photo on Instagram with one of his former producers, and oddly enough used the hashtag #JohnStewartCanStillWhupSupermansAss. The photo can be seen below:
Known this beast since he was 15. I was on the football field playing for Miami, he was leading the Hurricanes marching band as Drum Major. He spent years of working on my WWE story lines & Rock monologues. Then years of being on every movie set with me learning the film business from top to bottom. Today, he's one of the best and most sought after producers in Hollywood. Brilliant, relentless and one big motherf*cker! Proud of you brother & thank you for all the hard work. #ProducerHiram #TeamRock #JohnStewartCanStillWhupSupermansAss
Yesterday, IGN resurrected this picture due to the mysterious hashtag on Twitter, which could be alluding that The Rock may be playing John Stewart, aka DC hero Green Lantern. When IGN tweeted about it, Johnson made it a point to respond. However, he neither denied or confirmed anything. Here’s what The Rock had to say:
We know for a fact that The Rock has been in talks with DC to be part of an upcoming film, though things have been kept heavily under wraps so far. But could this mean that we see Dwayne Johnson playing John Stewart/Green Lantern in Batman vs. Superman?
What do you think? I would love to see The Rock as Green Lantern!
