Vin Diesel says ‘XXX 3’ Script Will Be Complete Next Month

If there’s one actor you can count on for releasing early info about their films on Facebook, it’s Vin Diesel.  The Fast & Furious star has openly let slip details about several of his projects.  Most recently, he announced a few days ago that his popular Riddick franchise is looking to be in the early stages of a fourth installment.

Now, Diesel has announced that the script for xXx 3, previously rumored to be subtitled The Return of Xander Cage, should be completed next month.  Here’s what he had to say:

As you know, the new ‘XXX’ script finally comes in next month… and just this morning people are suggesting Katy Perry as the new X girl.

P.s. Who would you like to see me work with this year?

For those of you unfamiliar with the xXx series; the first film was released in 2002, and starred Diesel as a sports enthusiast-turned spy who saves the world while doing extreme stunts.  It was pretty successful financially, but Diesel did not return for the 2004 sequel, xXx: State of the Union.  Instead, the film added a new addition in Ice Cube, who starred, with Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role from first film.  The third film, as I mentioned above, would see the return of Diesel’s character Xander.

Remember though: xXx 3 has yet to be officially announced or green-lighted by a film studio, but the script is definitely a start.

Another thing people may be eying is the fact that Diesel mentioned Katy Perry might have a part in the film as the new “X Girl” (I guess being titled similar to a Bond girl).  Despite negative comments, you have to realize an xXx 3 would not be made with the sole purpose of being a serious film.  So to me, if you’re going to have Katy Perry have a few lines, and just be there looking sexy throughout the film for the fun of it; then by all means Vin, do your stuff.

What do you guys think of a possible xXx 3 coming over a decade later?  Let’s not forget Riddick was released in 2013, almost a decade after its predecessor The Chronicles of Riddick.  So it could turn out to be a decent action flick.
