The marketing campaign for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been giving us a lot to look forward to. I have a feeling that with all of the other movies coming out this Winter and Spring, its May 2nd release date is going to creep up on us rather quickly. The footage and information revealed so far has brought a lot of questioning as to what exactly will happen TASM 2, and how certain events may effect the upcoming installments.
Seven new images have been released today via Total Film, and certainly leave a lot to question:
– Spider-Man seems to have put a temporary restraint on Rhino, but what is that orange canister he seems so glad to have in hand? Odds are it probably has something to do with genetic enhancement created by Oscorp.
– It appears that Harry Osborn is present when Electro is being created. Does this mean Electro and Harry may team up towards the climax of the film? (It would certainly make sense with a Sinister Six film on the way)
– One of the biggest rumors of TASM 2 is whether or not we will see the tragic fate of Gwen Stacy as it is portrayed in the comics. She appears to be wearing the same outfit as in the comics scenario, and she definitely appears to be in some sort of danger. Could this be the end for Gwen, or will the she live to see TASM 3?
– The first clear shot of Spider-Man confronting Harry Osborn. Since Harry is friends with Peter Parker, does he know Spider-Man’s true identity? That was the case in 2007’s Spider-Man 3. It’s hard to tell exactly what is going on here. Also, I read a comment of someone pointing out the giant skull/fangs behind glass in between them, and how they resemble something similar to Venom. (Hmm….)
The other three images don’t leave much to question, but are just for good looks, and add even more hype to see this film’s action sequences:
What do you think of the newly released stills? Any ideas as to what might happen in TASM 2? Can’t wait until May 2nd!
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to hit theaters May 2nd, directed by Marc Webb, and starring Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx, Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field.
