Between 2014 and 2015, there are enough big franchise movies being released to make any fanboy squeal. Between Star Wars VII, Avengers 2, Batman vs. Superman, and a new Bond movie, there’s no where to go wrong in 2015.
Now, to add fuel to the fire, production start dates have been announced for the upcoming Jurassic World, Terminator: Genesis, and The Fantastic Four.
While none of these three franchises ended on good terms with their most recent installments, there’s still room for improvement. 2001’s Jurassic Park III was hit or miss, 2009’s Terminator Salvation was just for looks, and the two mid-2000’s Fantastic Four films were flat-out painful for Marvel.
The production dates come from The Production Weekly on Twitter, who also announced that all three films will actually be filming in Louisiana. An odd choice for The Fantastic Four, though it makes sense for Jurassic and Terminator. The dates are as follows:
March 31st – The Fantastic Four begins production in Baton Rouge
April 21st – Terminator: Genesis starts up in New Orleans
June 2nd – Jurassic World’s production comes to Louisiana
Though not much information has been revealed on the three projects, we know that Chris Pratt will star in Jurassic World, who is already shaping up for a breakout 2014. Also, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke and Arnold Schwarzenegger will lead Terminator: Genesis. As for The Fantastic Four, no confirmed casting has been announced yet.
The Fantastic Four is set to hit theaters on June 19th, 2015, Terminator: Genesis on July 1st, 2015, and Jurassic World June 12th, 2015.
